Leading heating solutions manufacturer, Ideal Heating, is helping housing associations improve the management of their boiler stock through better control of their maintenance costs, compliance, sustainability, and tenant welfare, with the launch of two new product ranges: the upgraded Logic2 boilers and the Link remote boiler monitoring solution.
The upgraded Logic range, Logic2, has been designed to make installation, servicing and maintenance even easier. New features include a larger, higher resolution screen for easier navigation, a flue turret seal that is fixed in place to prevent the rubber seal being dislodged during flue installation, and improvements to the wiring centre for easier installation. A more accessible Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) allows for quicker replacement during maintenance, and a new push-fit PRV connection removes the need for a compression fitting when piping up the boiler, helping to increase engineer efficiency.
The range also reduces potential disruption for tenants. For example, a new green handle on the filling loop is easily identifiable, allowing tenants to be guided through re-pressurising their system over the phone to prevent unnecessary call outs, and user guides come in five different languages, again supporting self-management. The Logic Combi2 also improves energy efficiency through the intelligent pre-heat function that learns tenant usage patterns, offering faster hot water while using less gas compared to a standard pre-heat function.
Ideal Heating’s new remote monitoring solution, Link, has been developed in-house for use with Ideal Heating boilers to provide real-time health data, service reminders and fault notifications for every boiler in a fleet. Designed specifically for social housing and using cellular connectivity to remove the need for a wi-fi network, the plug-in Link Cellular module, which takes only five minutes to install, sends data back to the Partner Portal where it can be reviewed to provide a better understanding of tenant usage patterns and behaviours, helping identify and address unusual activity or possible fuel poverty.
The Link range also enables effective management of engineer resource, in turn driving cost efficiency, by allowing service due notifications to be set, while fault codes are displayed to help understand a problem before an engineer visits. The Link Cellular is a one-off cost for 10 years of data, meaning there’s no monthly or yearly data subscription.
Elizabeth Wilkinson, head of domestic product management at Ideal Heating, said: “The new range builds on more than a decade of experience using the existing Logic range and we have really focused on customer feedback to inform the changes that make it easier to work on.
“By offering the option of connectivity through our Link Cellular module, we can provide incredibly detailed insights for those managing the heating and hot water demands of a large tenant population. As well as making it easier and more efficient for users to understand the status of their fleet at any given moment, it also helps them in supporting tenant welfare and control their maintenance costs.
“What’s more, the new boilers are also fully compatible with greener technologies such as solar thermal and hybrid systems, and are also ready to run on a natural gas blend containing up to 20% hydrogen.”
Ideal Heating has sold four million Logic boilers since their launch 13 years ago. For more information, visit: https://idealheating.com/
