SIG Building Solutions is excited to unveil its latest innovation at the upcoming Solar and Storage Live show. This new canopy will be on display, highlighting its dual benefits: reliable shelter and the option to offset costs through integrated solar generation. Visitors to the show, held at the NEC in Birmingham on 22-24 September, will see how this cutting-edge solution, aptly named the ‘Compact Mono Canopy’, offers versatile shelter with a solar option.
SIG Building Solutions has been creating solar canopy solutions since 2017 and has transformed many car parks by integrating EV charging infrastructure to generate renewable electricity on-site, helping to reduce reliance on grid energy. This new product grew out of that experience, as many clients asked for a more flexible solution that can be installed easily where EV charging units currently exist without shelter.
The beauty of the Compact Mono Canopy is that it can be supplied as standard without solar to provide shelter in many situations, create walkways, offer weather protection for smoking or cycle shelters. It can also be created to take solar panels* on its roof to power LED lighting or signage. It comes in a standard length of 6.1m, with 1m increments, and a maximum height of 3m.
The structure is modular, versatile for outdoor use, and designed for quick assembly. It is manufactured in the UK from galvanised hot-rolled hollow-section steel. It comprises three primary frame elements with decorative trim, offering a modern, sharp, clean appearance. The structure can be produced in any RAL colour to match corporate branding, and areas can be personalised with laser-cut logos. The framework allows for integrated cable routing for LED lighting and PC DC cables, if required. It also includes integral guttering and aluminium downpipes.
